Wizzly for ages 7–10

The short answer

The Social Years tier is designed for 7 to 10 year olds, covering friendship conflict, disagreeing without escalating, reading tone, and playground negotiation. It is currently in development — the Wonder Years tier for ages 3–6 is what is live today, and early-access families keep their pricing when this tier arrives.

Status: in development

Being straight about this up front. The Social Years tier is being built and is not available yet. What is live today is the Wonder Years tier for ages 3–6.

If your child is in this age range, you can still create an account free during early access — it carries over, and early-access families keep their pricing when this tier lands.

Why this age is the hard one

Between seven and ten the social world stops being simple. Friendships acquire hierarchy and history. Exclusion becomes a tool children use deliberately rather than accidentally. Things stop meaning what they literally say — "fine" starts doing a lot of work.

It is also the age when most parents lose visibility. A four-year-old tells you everything that happened. A nine-year-old says "good" and goes upstairs, and the playground politics that are genuinely occupying them play out entirely offstage.

The skills that matter here are not obvious ones. Being able to disagree without the friendship rupturing. Noticing the moment a game stopped being fun for someone else. Going back after a fall-out, which is a completely separate skill from making friends in the first place.

What Wizzly will teach at this age

  • Friendship conflict — falling out, and finding the way back
  • Disagreeing without escalating
  • Reading tone: when "fine" does not mean fine
  • Giving and taking feedback without it stinging
  • Playground negotiation and group dynamics

How the stories change

Wonder Years stories are cosy and the feelings are named plainly. Social Years stories are messier on purpose, because the situations a nine-year-old is navigating are messier.

Characters will have conflicting and partly reasonable motives. A friend will do something unkind for an understandable reason. Your child will be asked what they would do, and then find out what happens as a result — including when it does not work.

The dilemmas mirror what children this age are actually living: being left out of a game, a friend who has a new friend, being asked to pick a side, wanting to be the one who decides the rules.

What you can do in the meantime

Our guides on playground conflict and helping a child make friends cover the same ground and are usable tonight — how to coach rather than solve, how to work out which specific social skill is the sticking point, and when to involve the school.

Start now, keep your place

Wizzly is free during early access, and an account made now carries over to the Social Years tier when it launches. Early-access families get notice and a permanent discount before any paid plan starts.

If you have a younger child too, the Wonder Years tier is live and available today.

Common questions

Is Wizzly available for 8 year olds yet?

Not yet. The Social Years tier for ages 7–10 is in development. The Wonder Years tier for ages 3–6 is live today, and an early-access account made now carries over when the older tier launches.

When will the 7–10 tier launch?

It is in active development and we have not committed to a public date — we would rather say nothing than move a date. Early-access families are notified first.

What will Wizzly teach a 9 year old?

Friendship conflict and repair, disagreeing without escalating, reading tone and what people mean rather than say, giving and taking feedback, and negotiating in a group.

Can my 8 year old use the 3–6 tier in the meantime?

They can, but it is genuinely aimed younger — the stories are short and the situations simple, and most eight-year-olds find it babyish. Better to hold for the Social Years tier.
