The Depth Years tier is designed for 11 to 15 year olds and covers sarcasm and subtext, persuasion, identity, setting boundaries and hard conversations. It is currently in development. The Wonder Years tier for ages 3–6 is what is live today.

Why this age still needs it
There is an assumption that by eleven a child either has social fluency or does not, and the rest is personality. That is not true, and it is a costly thing to believe — adolescence is a second major period of brain development, particularly in exactly the regions handling social reasoning and impulse control.
What changes is that the stakes rise sharply while the willingness to be taught collapses. A twelve-year-old will not sit through a lesson on communication. They will argue with something, though, and arguing is itself the practice.
The specific skills that matter now are different in kind from the younger tiers. Not naming feelings — understanding that what someone says and what they mean have come apart, and learning to operate in that gap.

A different Wizzly
The wizard who tells cosy stories to a four-year-old would be insulting to a thirteen-year-old, and the tier is built accordingly.
At this age Wizzly meets them closer to an equal and starts sparring — kindly, but genuinely. It will take the other side of an argument. It will ask why they think that, and then ask again. It will not fold the moment they push back, which is the failure mode of most AI aimed at young people: agreeing with everything, and therefore being worth nothing to argue with.
The subject matter widens too — identity, fairness, persuasion, the conversations that cannot be avoided. Still bounded, still with topics that redirect back to a parent, but treating a teenager as someone capable of a real discussion.

Will a 13 year old actually use this?
Only if it is worth arguing with, which is the design goal for this tier — Wizzly takes positions and pushes back rather than agreeing with everything. A version that simply flattered them would be correctly ignored.
Is it not too late to teach communication skills at 13?
No. Adolescence is a second major period of development in exactly the brain regions handling social reasoning and impulse control. The window is wide open — what narrows is a teenager's tolerance for being taught, which is why it has to arrive as something other than a lesson.
Should my teenager use ChatGPT instead?
For homework and open-ended questions, yes — a general assistant is far better at that, and 13 is its stated minimum age. They serve different purposes and plenty of families will use both.
